Succession Seminar & Film Screening in Bennington on 10/27

The VEOC is excited to announce two upcoming events in Bennington on Thursday, 10/27!

First, we'll be kicking off our yearly "The Search for a Good Exit: Intro to Ownership Succession Planning" seminar series at the VSECU community room in Bennington! Featuring presenters Steven Chick of Charter Oak Insurance and Financial Services, and Matt Cropp of the Vermont Employee Ownership Center, the seminar will run from 2-4:30pm, and is a great opportunity learn the basics of how to choose a path for ownership succession in your business. We will take a close look at four different ways of selling a business: to an outsider, to family members, to managers or to the larger group of employees. While we will get into some technical details, including an overview of the business valuation process, the focus will be on stories about each path, told via video by owners who have been involved in the sale of Vermont businesses. The seminar is free for business owners and senior managers, but space is limited, so make sure to reserve your seat ASAP via this link!

Following the seminar, we're pleased to be partnering with VSECU and Harvest Brewing to present a special Co-op Month showing of the documentary Food for Change: The Story of Cooperation in America at Harvest Brewing's taproom at 201 South Street. Doors will be at 5:30pm, the film will start promptly at 6:30, and it will be followed by a discussion of the impact of co-ops on Vermont that will feature Simeon Chapin of VSECU and Matt Cropp of the VEOC.
