The Vermont Employee Ownership Center is a statewide non-profit whose mission is to promote and foster employee ownership in order to broaden capital ownership, deepen employee participation, retain jobs, increase living standards for working families, and stabilize communities. We provide information and resources to owners interested in selling their business to their employees, employee groups interested in purchasing a business, and entrepreneurs who wish to start up a company with broadly shared ownership.
Employee Ownership is a category of business structures that provide a path for full-time employees to become co-owners. ESOPs and Worker Cooperatives are the primary forms of Employee Ownership in the US, but each type offers unique benefits and challenges.

In celebration of Employee Ownership Month, the Employee Owners of Vermont, an active group of local employee-owned companies, raised just under $30,000 in October for the group’s sixth annual fundraiser for the Vermont Foodbank.
Every dollar raised throughout the fundraiser has been donated directly to the Vermont Foodbank to support the organizations work in providing meals for those in our communities facing hardship.
