2015: A Successful Year for Employee Ownership in Vermont!

On January 19th, the VEOC's board of directors staff gathered for the second edition of our Annual Meeting and Report to the Community at the State House in Montpelier. After duly electing our new set of officers and conducting other necessary affairs during our business meeting, we retired to a reception in Cedar Creek Room, where we highlighted the progress since we last gathered there in January of 2015. In the intervening twelve months, four Vermont companies successfully made the transition to employee ownership, and we were lucky to have representatives of all of them on hand to tell their stories (see the videos embedded below)! Following their presentations, the group heard from Represntative Warren Kitzmiller (D-Montpelier), who is sponsoring H.551, which, if passed, will make funds available for "feasibility studies" on prospective employee-owned businesses.

Overall, it was a great event, and left the Center's staff and volunteers energized as we work towards continuing our success in 2016!
