Patterns and Rhythms of Remote Collaboration: The Loomio Experience

Founded as a worker cooperative seeking to build a software product for collaborative decision-making, Loomio has spent the past eight years deeply considering how to best facilitate distributed participation for both their users and their own organization, which has long operated as a distributed team of employee-owners. In this webinar, co-founder Michael Elwood-Smith will share some of their experiences with distributed work, practices and work rhythms Loomio has found useful, and discuss how this has fed into the design and utility of their platform. The session will conclude with approximately twenty minutes set aside for questions from and discussion among attendees.

Bringing Employee Ownership to Your Company: Considerations for the COVID-19 Era

Hot Topics for ESOPs Webinar

Vermont ESOP folks are invited to join a free webinar marking the original date of the VEOC Conference for a lunch-time "Hot Topics for ESOPs" session. Attorney Tabitha Croscut and Plan Administrator Barbara Clough will review some of the key issues and common questions they're seeing in the field, including such topics as ESOP contributions and PPP loans, managing cash-flow and distributions, layoffs and allocations, and and the investment of non-plan assets. The session will also keep ample time open for answering attendee questions, and attendees may pre-submit questions when registering.

Hot Topics for Worker Co-ops Webinar

To mark the date the VEOC's annual conference would have been, we'll be hosting a free one hour virtual "Hot Topics for Worker Co-ops" session! The session will feature Joe Maraffino of the Democracy at Work Institute and Nico Lustig, a Burlington-based attorney with Dunkiel Saunders who recently started a fellowship with the Sustainable Economies Law Center. The presenters will share a bit about what they're seeing in the wider field, and then answer questions from Vermont worker co-op members that may be submitted both in advance and during the session.
